About Us
What is Across Species Project Indonesia?
Across Species Project Indonesia (ASPI) is an initiative that emerged from the Farmed Animal Welfare Incubator (FAWI) program by Welfare Matters. ASPI serves as a new platform to address issues within the animal agriculture sphere, particularly those that significantly impact the suffering of neglected species in Indonesia. Through collaboration, strategic partnerships, and educational initiatives, we aim to drive long-term and systemic change. We strive to improve the living conditions of farmed animals and ensure that every individual is valued and treated with respect in the farming industry.

Mission
Enhancing quality of life by reducing the suffering of farmed animals through farming system transformation, policy reforms, and fostering a more compassionate public perspective toward farmed animals.

We are committed to reducing the suffering of farmed animals by building a more compassionate farming system that improves their living conditions. This includes promoting higher welfare standards, advocating for policy reforms both at government and corporate levels, and inspiring a shift in public perception toward ethical and compassionate choices.
Through strategic collaborations and partnerships, research, and educational initiatives, we aim to drive long-term, systemic change in how animals are valued and treated in the agricultural industry, reshaping farming practices to ensure dignity, respect, and improved quality of life for all animals.
Vision
An earth thriving with respect to all species.

We envision a future where the inability of farmed animals and other species to perform their natural behaviors and their suffering within the system are no longer accepted practices in society. We see a world where animals are treated with respect and recognized as sentient beings, and where humans are increasingly aware of more compassionate and sustainable options for all species and the earth.
Values

Compassion-based for both human and non-human animals
We emphasize compassion as the foundation of all our choices and actions, extending it to the people we work with and interact with, as well as to the animals we advocate for.

We aim to encourage personal and professional growth for everyone involved and to expand the organization’s impact on animals.

Safe space culture for communication
Communication plays an essential role in success. We aim to create a space where everyone feels safe to share their insights and feelings.

Transparency
We believe that openness and honesty are key to building trust both internally and externally.

Collaboration
We are open to collaborating with external parties and strengthening collaboration within the internal team.
