Consumer Survey Report: Understanding The Duck Egg Consumption Behaviors in Indonesia
The Duck Egg Consumer Survey was conducted among 500 consumers in Indonesia to understand consumption patterns, purchasing preferences, awareness of animal welfare, and consumer views on the potential for animal welfare-based product labeling and certification. The survey was carried out online in June 2026 with respondents from Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta), West Java, Banten, Central Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, East Java, and Bali.
The survey sought to explore how consumers choose and consume duck eggs, the extent to which animal welfare factors into their decisions, and their views on laying duck housing systems, labeling, and product certification.
The survey findings provide an overview of consumer preferences and expectations regarding duck egg products in Indonesia, while also identifying opportunities and challenges in adopting production practices that give greater attention to animal welfare.
